Whilst freshly cast lead is always dull silver or grey in colour, the bloom of white oxide that can be seen on antique lead ornaments soon develops. This enhances its appearance and highlights contours, mellowing the surface and yet defining the design still further.
All lead ornaments will of course, last a lifetime.
